Hello everyone!

Carlo here from SoC Team - Back from the summer break, we’re ready to rock the final part of the organization! Just a short update, as we will be getting to you with HUGE NEWS soon... Things are beginning to shape up and we can’t wait to give you more updates!

Summer has been a long moment of self-reflection, both as a group and as individuals. We have been carrying on work while giving space to our individual out-of-school projects, as well as enjoying a little bit of summer with the ones we love.

In the meantime, we have been building the network around the School Of Cyborg: from NEoN to local institutions, our effort these months has been to present ourselves, our ideas, and our proposals. We have also started to team up with practitioners, testing the ground and thinking in detail about what the program will look like. NO SPOILERS – you'll just have to wait for a little while.

The first open call has been issued, and we are glad to communicate that the first position has been placed! We will be joined by a local artist that will work with us designing the first workshop. Her name is Evie Edwards, and we are thrilled to work with her this autumn! Evie is a multifaceted young artist from Edinburgh, recently graduated in Arts Practice and History of Art. Her work, featured as part of Circa's 'Class of 2020' and shortlisted for The Edge Visions of Science Art Prize 2020, focuses on the concepts of paradox, imitation, romanticism and humour. Edwards’ practice is not fixed and she explores various media to best balance innovation and tradition.

With her, we will focus on digital art, and why and how we can enjoy it. In the meantime, Catherine and Franki have developed our graphical identity, and soon we will be starting to post on Social Media with greater frequency. Look for us on your Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter feeds!

We are keeping in touch with Shannon McRae, the author of the base text for our project and our main guest for the Dundee Program, and HER, an AI and Artistic research center based in Italy.

Ready to return, our gears are already running!

Hope to see you all in Dundee in November!

Take Care,
