CURATORIAL QUESTIONS

Who can one be online? The platforms we dwell online provide spaces free of the cultural stigma that characterises gender issues in contemporary age.

How do we performembrace identities in the online realm? AI is becoming increasingly relevant in being an other with which our identities will dialogue, shaping our autobiographies.

What are the tools contemporary artistic practices have developed to deal with our digital existence? VR, AR, but also social media have become outlets for creativity.

PROGRAMME PARTNERS

Shannon McRae

Author of "Coming apart at the seams: Sex, Text and the Virtual Body" (1995) on the relation between gender, identity, performance and roleplay in MOOs and MUDs.

The themes raised by her text are still relvant, 25 years after: indeed, queer access to the internet is still an unsolved issue.

What does it mean to have an identity - online? Is the internet really a testing ground to "practice" an identity?

The next step:

- To connect AI worksop partners together, in order to discuss the topics and find the AI workshop approach.

- To shape the contents for Visual Art Workshop with Evie Edwards, starting from her proposals.

- To organise Shannon McRae’s talks, understanding which themes and topics to cover,
